This might be a weird (public) declaration but I just had the most amazing bath.

Ever since I’d started experimenting with essential oils and doing a lot of reading, money spending and concocting strange ‘potions’, this was the first time I tried something wild:

  • 1 tbsp raw honey (melted in hot water)
  • 1 tbsp oatmeal flour (mixed into honey paste above)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable glycerin
  • 1 tbsp sandalwood floral water
  • 1 tbsp carrier oil (I used grapeseed)
  • 2 drops frankincense
  • 1 drop rose otto
  • 2 drops neroli

I’d just received the shipment for the rose otto and neroli essential oils earlier this week so I’ve been quite excited to use it. The only thing that kept detering me was the price I paid for them. The rose otto cost me $84 for 2.5ml (or $1.68 per drop) while the neroli cost me $43 ($0.85 per drop).

Now that is one expensive bath. The neroli smelled heavenly when I added the drops - now that’s the smell of oranges I’m familiar with. The rose was kinda eh. I’ve never been a fan of its smell so I never understood the rage but it is held in esteem in the essential oil world.

Was it worth it? Oh, absolutely.
